The venue overlooks the Arkansas river.

Before converted to a Marriott chain hotel (2015), it was called the Peabody Hotel; the hotel used to hold a daily "duck march" wherein a group of ducks were led into the lobby's fountain at 11 am. Then at 5 pm, the ducks, fielded by the hotel's red-jacketed duckmaster, were herded into the elevator and back up to their ducky penthouse on the roof.
