GSRS25 will be held in SwissTech Convention Center in Lausanne, Switzerland. In 2014, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) opened the world’s first fully automated convention center – the SwissTech Convention Center has a total capacity of 3,000 seats, including an auditorium with 2,200 seats, a balcony with 800 seats, and around 15 fully modular seminar rooms on the garden level. Check out more about SwissTech Convention Center on its website here.
We recommend that international travellers fly into Geneva International Airport (GVA). From Geneva Airport, there is a direct train to Lausanne, which takes approximately one hour. This route is convenient, comfortable, and offers scenic views of the Lake Geneva region. In contrast, travelling from Zurich Airport involves at least one change and a total travel time of around 2.5 hours.
Once in Lausanne, the SwissTech Convention Center can be reached from the main station by S-Bahn in approximately 10 minutes.
For accommodation, participants may consider staying in Lausanne city centre, which offers a broader range of restaurants, services, and cultural attractions. Although there is a hotel near the convention center, many visitors find the city centre more appealing and better connected by public transport.
Participants are highly encouraged to book their accommodation as soon as possible. September is high season in Lausanne, and we want to ensure that everyone secures a hotel room early enough.
